Notes
The Bay of Fundy is a popular Canadian reel composed by the influential Nova Scotian fiddler and composer Bill Guest. Though it is a modern composition, it has become a standard in the “Down East” and “Old-Time” fiddle traditions across North America.
The tune is typically played in the key of D Major and is celebrated for its bright, driving melody that captures the energetic spirit of the maritime provinces. It is often used for square dances and contra dances because of its steady, rhythmic pulse and accessible phrasing.
